JobRivet connects you with independent pros, but you stay in charge of who you hire. These tips help you hire and work safely, wherever the job is.
Check the Pro's profile, reviews from completed jobs, and any listed credentials. Ask for proof of license and insurance where your local laws require them — JobRivet does not verify these for you.
Get the scope, price and schedule in writing in your chat before work starts. Never pay in full up front; agree on milestones for larger jobs.
Let someone know when a Pro will be at your property, and keep communications in the app so there is a record. Pros: confirm the job details and location before traveling, and tell someone where you are working.
Job locations on the map are shown as approximate areas. Only share your exact address with the person you hire, when you are ready.
JobRivet does not process payment for the work itself — payment terms are between you and the Pro. Be cautious with cash, wire transfers, gift cards or requests to pay outside your agreement, and never share your JobRivet or bank login details with anyone.
Watch out for: pressure to decide immediately, requests for full payment before work begins, prices far below every other bid, refusal to provide license or insurance details, or anyone asking you to move the conversation or payment off-platform before you have agreed on a job.
Document the issue with photos and messages, and try to resolve it directly first. If you feel unsafe, contact local emergency services before anything else. Then report the user to JobRivet support so we can review and act.
